Former Chelsea Boss: Blues Need Creativity – Someone Like Sneijder

Glenn Hoddle who managed Chelsea in the 90s feels that the problem with Chelsea is the lack of creativity in midfield which is making them too predictable at the moment and someone like Wesley Sneijder will bring that necessary spark to the team which is very much needed at the moment. Hoddle also said that he doesn’t find anything wrong up front where likes of Torres, Drogba and Anelka play their trade but to open the floods he thinks midfield in creativity is must.

“At the moment they are too predictable in midfield, and to go to the next level they need much more creativity in midfield, but Chelsea will appreciate there are not many of that highest quality around these days, and the few that are are being chased by the elite clubs.”

Hoddle also showed his support to Carlo Ancelotti who is almost certain to leave the club at the end of the season by saying:

“It will be a mistake to change the manager at Chelsea if the owner is searching for someone to bring him the Champions league. Carlo deserves one more go at it”

I agree with Mr. Hoddle. We definitely need someone like Sneijder or Modric who can give another dimension to our team and make the midfield stronger. Talking about Carlo, it will be really good to see if he is given one more chance but only if he is given full control over the team and he rectifies his mistakes of this season.

We would like to hear from you, what you think about Hoddle’s comments and Carlo’s future.

Carlo Ancelotti should stay…he’s position should not be up for discussion. This is a man who won Champions League in 2003,2004 and 2007. HE is great. Give him time and give him control but he needs to know that Chelsea needs allot of young talented players and some older ones need to go.Chelsea should just get Hiddink to work in a directors position.

    Ancelotti should go!
He is too predictable as a manager and the players are less motivated in big games. We need Guus or Jose back. With Carlo there is still no chance of winning the CL next season. If you love Chelsea support this!

Chelsea does need a play-maker. Silva, Modric, and Sneijder are good at this. But wingers and strikers with good dribbling skills can help a lot too. Here we think of Neymar and Van de Wiel. Neymar does not just strike well, he is very good at setting up other strikers with innovative through-balls.
