Top 3 Candidates For Manchester United Captaincy Role

By on December 17, 2011

With Vidic being out due to a cruciate ligament damage for the rest of the season and maybe longer, who will take over one of the most prestigious honors of being Manchester United’s captain?

Rio Ferdinand

He has all the capabilities and experience to captain Manchester United again. His leadership skills are amazing as he captained England, but the only reason why old Rio won’t get the captaincy while Vidic is out for the season is because he has a bad history with getting injuries and isn’t getting any younger.

Patrice Evra

He has been the stand in captain for Manchester United this season, while Vidic went out with injury against West Brom. In the last game to against Wolves, he captained the side. Does this mean Patrice will be our captain for the rest of the season or will it go to somebody else? But the only reason why I wouldn’t give it to Evra is he isn’t forceful like Rio, Vidic, and Rooney.

Wayne Rooney

He is our best player and does everything for our team. Rooney played CM this season with all these injuries to the midfield. He always telling the boys to go forward and he isn’t afraid of yelling at anyone for taking stupid shots; whenever Nani takes his shot instead of passing, Wayne yells at him. He gives his all, he’s extremely determined and a leader.
