Korneyev – “Arsenal Ready to Enter Negotiations” for Midfielder

Arsenal news

Arsenal are prepared to sell Andrey Arshavin this January, with Zenit St Petersburg’s director confirming their interest in signing him.

The Russian captain has been a bit-part player this season for the Gunners and has struggled to find the form that lead to Arsenal paying a reported £16m for his services in 2009.

The 30-year-old has managed just six starts this season and could be tempted by a return to his homeland, with Zenit Director Igor Korneyev confirming they would be interested in doing a deal:

“We are always interested in Arshavin,” Zenit director Igor Korneyev told Sovietsky Sport.

“But I can neither confirm nor deny whether we have made an offer.”

A source went on to tell Sovietsky Sport that Arsenal were “ready to enter negotiations for Arshavin” this January as manager Arsene Wenger looking to cash-in on the midfielder in order to generate extra funds for him to spend in the transfer window, with a striker and full back top of his priority list.

Why is it always that we are either selling a player or trying to hold on to a player?

You wouldn`t have thought so against Villa. Too 1 dimensional, IMO

The pong still misses ping in some games. Switching from aggressor to distributor needs work. But questioning his talent is absurd. As a puppy he already strikes fear in top dogs. When he gets the ying and yang right, he will pingpong the midfield.

Im an ARSENAL fan! since i was a child! And yeah we have to sell Arshavin, Squillaci, Mannone, Almunia, Diaby!! But honesty, we are not gonna be champions with Walcott and Gervinho like titular wingers! Both are good players, but would not gonna win the Champions league(honesty) and i hardly see us winning Premier with these wingers! And thats true! I know you are going to say they have played great against City and Chelsea! And they were! Really great! But we are talking about a season! And not only Is Premier in game! Sadly, if this season we not qualify to Champions League, RVP is out! And worst! Wenger is out! And that would mean the end of the Arsenal that we all know!

I’d sell Arshavin, Chamakh and Diaby, but only if it is reinvested in players of the calibre of Haard, Gotze or Podolski.

Arshavin is the laziest player in the league since Le Tissier. Chamakh looked awesome for his first couple of months and has gone steadily downhill since. Diaby makes van Persie look invincible in terms of injuries.

If we have genuine deisgns on the title or the Champion’s League we need to lose the deadwood and bring in some genuinely world class talent.

I meant Hazard, not Haard, damn crack addiction…

Coquelin and Frimpong will emulate Petite and Viera in the Arsenal Midfield for a decade. They are a great combination and will allow AW to play and combination around them including the young Oxlade.

Sell Arshavin, Squillaci and chamackh should be sold. I’d hang on to Diaby (if he can be kept fit for more than one game, i dont think hes been fit to play two in a row this season). Frimpong is an amazing player and wowever suggested we sell him needs to stop freebasing!
We need another striker and fullback since we sold our utility midfielder/fullback. I knew that would come back to bite us!

I remember the time when many a fans said to sell Song and now many are calling him indispensable. Frimpong is young and still learning. Give him time he will become better. Diaby should not be sold because he can be a bit part player.

i wld ell fabianki, almunia, squillahi, arshavin, chamakh, denilson, bendtner.and replace them with martinez as 3rd choice with mannone 2nd choice keeper, kyle bartley for squllachi, podolski for chamakh, and a massive creative and experienced central midfielder.d idea of hazard nd gotze is lame.we v wilsher dt can match gotze anytym even better,we v ozy, aneke, conor, lansbury and much more….given d right loan spells, these guysald be better than gotze and hazard, xcpt we dnt loan out lansbury and wilsher, buh loan d remaining to epl teams also iggy too.rather than sell frimy, loan him out.and eastmnd..epl teams.then sit back and watch them transform after much match times in d epl.

We need to sell squilaci, almunia, denilson, bendtner, chamarkh and loan out frimpong since coaqline is more mattured. Then play arshavin behind van persie. Arshavin is to old to be flying the wings.

wenger should go for willian of shaktar donesk for thw wings, and then sign dabo from sevilla, a verstile player who can play anywhere around the back four.

You guys have turned crazy! Arsenal has already two wing wizards in the OX and RYO. It’s a matter of time before Gerv is relegated to the bench, we don’t need Hazard!
