Tottenham came close to starting their Champions League campaign in ideal fashion but threw away a two-goal lead against Werder Bremen last night.

Spurs got off to the perfect start taking the lead after just 12 minutes when Petri Pasanen fired into his own net and Peter Crouch put the Tottenham faithful into dream land only four minutes later, scoring a towering header to give the Londoners a 0-2 lead.

But Bremen got an all-important foot-hold in the game just before half-time when Hugo Almeida headed past Carlo Cudicini to make it 1-2. Then only two minutes into the second half MOM Marko Marin fired in from 25 yards to draw the home side level.

Neither side could find the winner and the game ended 2-2. Watch all the goals below….
