Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their Champions League heartache when they face Southampton on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Jose Mourinho will select:
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois is Mourinho’s No.1 and he’s expected to once again keep Petr Cech out of the side this weekend.
Defence: The Blues have no fresh injury worries to contend with but Mourinho may decide to bring Kurt Zouma in alongside John Terry after Gary Cahill’s disappointing performance against PSG. Branislav Ivanovic should keep his place in the back four but Filipe Luis may also come in for Cesar Azpiliceuta at right-back.
Midfield: Serbian international Nemanja Matic played in Europe in midweek but he’ll make his return from a domestic suspension on Sunday and should start alongside Cesc Fabregas in midfield once again. John Obi Mikel remains out with a knee injury.
Attack: Mourinho may bring January signing Juan Cuadrado into the team to freshen things up in attack with the likes of Ramires and Willian missing out. Oscar was substituted at half time on Wednesday night so should be fresh while Eden Hazard is likely to keep his place in attack. Diego Costa was in the wars in midweek but should continue to lead the line up front.
Here is how I think we’ll see Chelsea line-up:
What do you think? What team would you select for the game?
