Liverpool target Douglas Costa has dropped a huge hint he wants to join Chelsea after praising Jose Mourinho and confirming he wants to leave Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, according to reports.
Costa has been in excellent form for Shakhtar since joining the club from Gremio in 2010 and his potential has led to speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea reportedly came close to signing the Brazilian international during the January transfer window and reports earlier this year suggested the Blues were ready to renew their interest in the form of a £20m bid.
Liverpool have also been strongly linked with the 24-year-old with rumours claiming that Brendan Rodgers was hoping to try and hijack Chelsea’s attempts to land the attacking midfielder by offering him guaranteed first team football at Anfield.
However, it seems that may still not be enough for the Merseysiders as Costa has dropped a huge hint that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge after describing Jose Mourinho as the best manager in the world, while the attacker also confirmed he’s looking for a new challenge next season.
“Eventually the time comes when you get tired of playing always in the same league. I’m 24 years old and it is worth trying to tell people that I want to go.
“We have a wonderful coach in Mircea Lucescu, but I think it’s time for a change and I think Mourinho is the best in the world.” Costa is quoted as saying by the Express
The Express claims that Shakhtar will demand a fee in the region of £20m to sell, but that sort of money shouldn’t be a problem for either of the English clubs, so a move to England could very-much be on the cards.
But judging by these comments, it’s clear Costa rates Mourinho highly so you’d assume he would find it difficult to turn down a move to Chelsea if they did come calling this summer.

It will be interesting to see where Costa plays if he does join Chelsea as they already have a wealth of attacking talent on the books, but with rumours suggesting that Juan Cuadrado could be set for a swift exit at the Bridge, perhaps the Brazilian will be a replacement for the January signing.
