Van der Vaart to return for Chelsea clash
Rafael van der Vaart tore his hamstring during Tottenham’s victory over Liverpool on Sunday, but a scan showed that the injury is better than initially thought. Typically tearing a hamstring can sideline a player for three to four weeks but Rafael is expected to be back before that.
He has definitely been ruled out for the game at Birmingham and the mid week Champions League tie with FC Twente. An exact date has not yet been set for his return however he has not been ruled out for the derby battle with Chelsea on Sunday week.
Tottenham signed Dutch Van der Vaart from Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer. He has picked a few minor injuries during the season including an ankle knock and hamstring strain last month. Even with these he has proved fruitful scoring eight goals in 14 games.
Would it be premature to have Rafael back for the game against Chelsea?
