President Confirms Man Utd Have Agreed £46.9m Deal To Sign Brazilian Attacker
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has claimed that Manchester United have agreed to sign Brazilian attacker Felipe Anderson in a deal worth £46.9m this summer
With the winter transfer window closed, manager’s are now looking ahead towards the summer and planning deals for next season. Today, Man Utd have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Felipe Anderson….
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has claimed that Manchester United have agreed to sign Brazilian attacker Felipe Anderson in a deal worth £46.9m this summer, according to the Daily Star.
Anderson was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer with the Telegraph reporting that United had lodged a formal offer after watching the South American score 11 goals and provide 10 assists during his first full season in Serie A.
Lazio refused to do business at the time but United have continued to keep a close eye on the 22-year-old with speculation once again linking the Red Devils during the January transfer window.
It looks like United are now finally going to get their hands on the player as Lazio president Claudio Lotito has now been quoted as telling reporters that he’s agreed a deal worth €60m (£46.9m) to sell Anderson to Manchester United.
The Daily Star cite Lotito as saying via Italian outlet Calcio Mercato:
“Felipe Anderson will move to Manchester United next season for €60m [£47m].”
“I bought Felipe Anderson for €8m [£6.3m], and I’ve already sold him on for €60m [£47m]”.
We’ll have to wait and see how much truth there is behind this claim but as it’s come directly from the Lazio president, it does appear that Anderson will be heading to Old Trafford in a big-money deal this summer.
United have endured another difficult campaign under Louis van Gaal and with his position almost untenable following a 2-1 defeat to FC Midtjylland last week, the Dutchman will almost certainly not be in charge come the summer.
However, whoever is at the helm will surely be pleased if Anderson is to join the club as he’s a top class attacker who’s capable of playing anywhere across the front three positions, so he’d give United plenty of options in the final third.

That will come in very useful as the Red Devils have struggled for creativity at times this season so I’m sure the Brazilian international would be a welcome addition at Old Trafford if he does end up making the move from Lazio this summer.
