Superstar Arsenal Target Willing To Join Man Utd But Only On This Special Condition
Arsenal target Zlatan Ibrahimovic has expressed his desire to join Manchester United this summer but only if Louis van Gaal leaves the club.
Paris Saint-Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has expressed his desire to join Manchester United this summer but only if Louis van Gaal leaves the club, according to Sky Sports News.
Ibrahimovic has become one of the most wanted players in the world ahead of the summer transfer window after confirming he’ll leave Paris Saint-Germain when his current contract expires in June.
The Swedish international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League with the Daily Star reporting last month that Arsenal and Manchester United were leading the race for his signature with the duo showing a keen interest in luring the striker to England.
It looks as though the Red Devils have moved in to pole position as Sky Sports News sources are claiming today that Ibrahimovic has indicated his willingness to move to Old Trafford this summer.
However, the news outlet suggests that there is a very special condition attached as the enigmatic hitman is apparently insisting he’ll only join United if Louis van Gaal is no longer in charge.
United have endured a frustrating campaign under van Gaal and calls for the Dutchman to be sacked intensified following Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, which has left United four points off the top four and in danger of missing out on Champions League football.
van Gaal is widely tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer with Jose Mourinho the red hot favourite to take over the reigns and it’s safe to say Ibrahimovic has a far better relationship with the Portuguese coach than van Gaal.
The pair endured a rocky relationship during their time together at Ajax so it comes as no surprise to hear that Ibrahimovic is reluctant to work with van Gaal again, whereas he enjoyed an excellent relationship with Mourinho while the duo were at Inter Milan.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but United could certainly do with a player of Ibrahimovic’s quality as they’ve only scored 39 league goals this season, which is the same amount the Swede has managed for PSG on his own this campaign.

However, I wouldn’t discount the likes of Arsenal from the race just yet as the Gunners are also crying out for a world class striker and I’m sure their fans would love to see a player like Zlatan arrive at the Emirates this summer after seeing their latest title challenge fall short.
If van Gaal stays at United for the final year of his contract and Ibra is keen on trying his luck in England, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal make a real play for his signature.
