Paul Merson Expects Key Day In Title Race After Predicting Spurs & Leicester Games

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has made his prediction for the Leicester City and Tottenham games and is expecting this to be a pivotal few days in the title race.
First up, leaders Leicester will be looking to go one step closer to securing a sensational Premier League title when they entertain Swansea City at the King Power stadium at 4.15 this afternoon.
Claudio Ranieri’s men will have to make do without key striker Jamie Vardy after he was controversially sent off during the 2-2 draw with West Ham last weekend, and Merson believes the Foxes could struggle without their top scorer.
With Vardy sidelined, Merse is tipping Swansea – who have little left to play for after securing their top flight status for another year – to come away with a 1-1 draw which would open the door for Tottenham.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said:
Leicester v Swansea – Super Sunday, 4.15pm
This game was a gimme for Leicester last week, now Jamie Vardy is suspended it’s not. I don’t think Vardy is a great player but without him how are Leicester going to open up the game? He stretches defences and creates space for midfielders on the ball and I can’t see who will be able to replace that pace.
I just don’t see Leicester winning without Vardy, he is a massive, massive miss. Swansea will just play around halfway, suffocate the Foxes and come away with a point which will blow the title race wide open.
PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1
If Leicester are held to a draw, Tottenham would be looking to take full advantage when they host West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Monday night.
Spurs thrashed Stoke 4-0 last week and Merson is predicting a similar score-line tomorrow night which would cut Leicester’s lead to just three points with three games left to play.
Merson said in his Sky Sports column:
Tottenham v West Brom – Monday Night Football, 8pm
Fair play to West Brom, they got their 40 points on the board early doors ahead of an atrocious final run of fixtures. It starts with Spurs, who were outstanding at Stoke. It doesn’t even pain me to see Spurs where they are at the moment, they are a very good team. Hopefully their success kicks Arsenal into gear. If this Tottenham team stays together and they get a couple more players they’ll be favourites for the title next season.
PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0
If Merson is right then we’ll go in to the final three games with just three points separating the top two, and given Tottenham’s superior goal difference and Leicester’s difficult run-in, the North Londoners could suddenly find themselves being favourites for the title.
