The opening of the summer transfer window is almost upon us so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirms he’ll join Man Utd….
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken to Twitter this evening to confirm that he’s chosen to join Manchester United this summer.
The Swedish super-star – who retired from international football after his country were knocked out of Euro 2016 earlier this month – has been hotly tipped to join United after announcing last month that he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires on June 30th [today].
Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that the Red Devils were making preparations to put the 34-year-old through his medical after agreeing personal terms with his agent over a lucrative one-year contract.
It’s not clear whether that medical has now been completed but the Mirror reported just last night that the proposed deal would be completed by the weekend with Ibrahimovic expected to sign a deal worth £220,000-a-week.
It appears those reports have been proven accurate as the striker himself as how taken to social media to announce that he will indeed by joining Manchester United this summer.
Ibrahimovic Tweeted:
Time to let the world know. My next destination is @ManUtd pic.twitter.com/DAK7iYlrCq

With his contract at PSG set to expire at midnight, it would come as no surprise to see Ibrahimovic officially unveilled as a United player at some stage on Friday and I think it’s safe to say the majority of fans are excited by his arrival.
The striker may be approaching his 35th birthday but he’s still considered as one of the best forwards in world football and proved it once again after scoring 50 goals for PSG in all competitions last season.
United could certainly do with that kind of firepower as they only managed 49 league goals between the entire squad last season so Jose Mourinho will be delighted to have lured the Swede to Old Trafford.
Mourinho knows Ibrahimovic well as the pair worked together at Inter Milan where they won the treble in 2010 so the supporters will be praying they can bring that kind of success back to United.

Once the move is complete, Ibrahimovic will become Mourinho’s second signing since becoming manager after the Portuguese coach splashed out on Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly last month.
