Liverpool Close-In On Deal For £21m-Rated Brazilian Attacker

The summer transfer window is now open so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Talisca…
Liverpool are in talks with Benfica’s £21m-rated attacker Talisca and have already applied to the FA for a work permit for the Brazilian youngster, according to the Daily Star.
Talisca – full name Anderson Souza Conceicao – made his name in his homeland at Brazilian club Bahia before earning a £3.5m move to Benfica in the summer of 2014.
The 22-year-old has continued to develop in to a fine attacking midfielder during his two years in Portugal with his 20 goals and 4 assists helping Benfica secure back-to-back league and cup doubles.
It appears Talisca’s potential has caught the eye of Liverpool as the Daily Star are citing reports from Portuguese outlet O Jojo that claim the Reds are now in advanced talks to secure a deal for the attacker this summer.
The report suggests that Benfica are demanding a fee in the region of £21m for the player and it looks like a deal must be close as they also say Liverpool have already applied to the FA for a work permit ahead of Talisca’s proposed move to England.
The youngster has so far only represented Brazil at Under-21 level and has no caps for the senior side yet meaning he won’t qualify for a standard work permit so Liverpool might be applying for a ‘special talent’ visa.
Only time will tell whether their request will be granted but if the Merseysiders fail to acquire a work permit, then Talisca will need to head out on loan to a European club if Liverpool decide to push ahead with any deal.
The South American is predominantly an attacking central midfielder but he’s also capable of playing out on with wing so he’d give Jurgen Klopp plenty of options if he was to complete a switch to Anfield this summer.

The German coach has already brought in four new signings with Sadio Mane recently following Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Marko Grujic in making the move to Merseyside so Talisca could be the latest new addition in Klopp’s revolution.
