The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham make their move for Ante Coric….
Tottenham have stolen a march on Liverpool after opening talks with Dinamo Zagreb over a potential deal to sign highly-rated attacker Ante Coric this summer, according to the Express.
Coric joined Zagreb in 2013 and after a short stint in the youth team, he was promoted to the senior squad in 2014 where he’s developed in to one of the hottest properties in European football and has already earned two caps for the Croatian senior national team.
The 19-year-old has scored an impressive 11 goals and provided 15 assists in his 80 appearances for Zagreb so far and was named as the Croatian Football Hope of the Year in 2015 – which is the equivalent of the Young Player of the Year in England.
His potential has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs with the Express claiming that Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton have all been showing a keen interest in signing the teenager this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge fan of the youngster and the Daily Mail reported back in June that the Merseysiders were prepared to meet Zagreb’s £10m asking price, but they’ve so far failed to get a deal wrapped-up.
It looks like Liverpool could be about to pay the price as the Express are citing a report coming from Sky Sports News that says Tottenham have now stolen a march on their rivals after opening formal talks with Zagreb over a potential deal.
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed he plans to bring in further reinforcements over the coming weeks and an attacker to support Christian Eriksen is understood to be high on his priority list.
Coric fits the bill perfectly and the newspaper suggests that Zagreb are willing to cash-in on the young attacking midfielder this summer, so there is a deal to be done if the two sides can agree a fee.
