Liverpool Transfer News: Klopp Lining-Up £25.8m Midfielder Bid
Liverpool transfer news: Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is eyeing a £25.8m move for a Bundesliga midfielder. Find out all the details here
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with a move for Mahmoud Dahoud…
The Express are reporting that Liverpool are considering launching a £25.8m bid to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has been extremely busy in the market this summer bringing in seven new players but with Joe Allen leaving for Stoke and Lucas Leiva tipped to join him out the exit door, the German coach needs to further strengthen his midfield options.
Several names have been linked with a move to Anfield but Dahoud has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks and it looks as though Liverpool are now ready to formalise their interest with a firm offer.
The Express are citing reports coming from German outlet SportBild that claim Liverpool are willing to offer Monchengladbach £25.8m for the German under-21 international this summer.
Dahoud has two years left to run on his contract and Gladbach are keen to tie him down to fresh terms amid rumours that the midfielder has a buyout clause worth around £10m that comes in to affect next summer.
It looks like Liverpool are willing to pay a premium now in order to snap-up the highly-rated midfielder ahead of the likes of Juventus, who’re also reportedly chasing the 20-year-old’s signature.
However, the Merseysiders may face a tough time getting a deal done as Dahoud’s own agent, Reza Fazeli, has been quoted in the Express as saying that the player is ‘certain’ to remain at Gladbach for another year.
“It is certain Mahmoud will stay with Gladbach for now.
“There has been a lot of interest in him, not just from Liverpool. But we have an agreement with Gladbach and everything has been postponed for next season.
“We will have to wait and see what happens in the future but it will be up to the club to accept a fee they think is acceptable.”

So it looks like even if Liverpool did table a sizeable offer, Dahoud is expected to remain in Germany, which is a shame as the youngster would be an excellent signing for the Anfield club.
