Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur moved in on the top four of the Premier League after thrashing Swansea City 5-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
Spurs dominated from the outset but had to wait until the 39th minute to open the scoring with Kane converting from the penalty spot after Dele Alli was brought down in the area by Kyle Naughton.
It was 2-0 on the stroke of half time when Heung-min Son was on hand to fire home in acrobatic style after Christian Eriksen’s initial shot was saved by Luzasz Fabianski.
Tottenham wrapped up the three points when Kane finished off a sweeping break from the hosts as the in-form striker drilled home from the edge of the area for 3-0 in the 49th minute.
The north Londoners then added a fourth when Fabianski saved Alli’s effort only for the rebound to bounce off Eriksen and in to the net for 4-0 in the 70th minute before the Danish international added a fifth in stoppage time to complete the rout.
The win sees Spurs remain fifth in the table but they are now just one point behind rivals Arsenal ahead of their trip to West Ham later this evening.
