Arsenal moved up to second in the Premier League table thanks to a dramatic 2-1 win over Burnley at the Emirates this afternoon.
We should have had a penalty shortly after half time when Shkodran Mustafi was taken out in the area but our protests were waved away by referee Jon Moss.
However, it wasn’t long before we eventually broke the deadlock as Mustafi glanced home a superb header – his first goal for the club – from a Mesut Ozil corner in the 59th minute.
We were in total control but shot ourselves in the foot once again as we were reduced to 10 men when Granit Xhaka was shown a straight red for a lunge on Steven Defour after giving away the ball in the middle of the park.
It looked as though we’d thrown away a vital win when Francis Coquelin gave away a penalty in the 93rd minute and Andre Gray stepped up to make it 1-1 in stoppage time.
However, there was one more twist to come as we were awarded a late spot kick after Laurent Koscielny was kicked in the face by Mee – although replays showed the centre-back was in an offside position.
It wasn’t spotted by the linesman and Alexis Sanchez stepped up to chip home an audacious penalty to secure a 2-1 win which sees us climb to second in the table and to within five points of Chelsea.
