FA Cup
Liverpool vs Wolves Preview, Team News, Line-Up, Betting Tips & Prediction
Liverpool take on Wolves in the FA Cup at Anfield tomorrow. Here is a preview with team news, line-up, betting tips and predicted score.
Liverpool will be looking to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup when they take on Wolves at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds crashed out of the EFL Cup after Southampton left Anfield on Wednesday night with a 2-0 aggregate win to book their place in the final at Wembley next month.
The loss means Liverpool have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions so Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to get their campaign back on track with a win tomorrow.
Wolves should head to Anfield in confident mood having knocked out Premier League opposition in the previous round thanks to a 2-0 win over Stoke but they’ll know Liverpool away should be a much stiffer test.
Team news
Klopp confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Adam Lallana is unlikely to be risked after needing stitches on a cut suffered against Southampton in midweek.
However, right-back Nathaniel Clyne is expected to return to the squad after missing the League Cup clash with a rib injury but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be held back for the Chelsea game.
Klopp is set to make some changes with the likes of Ragnar Klavan, Alberto Moreno, Lucas Leiva, Gini Wijnaldum and Divock Origi all pushing for recalls with Liverpool’s key men expected to be rested ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Chelsea.
Wolves are set to bring in goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne as Carl Ikeme is suspended but Andy Lonergan is still out following knee surgery.
Likely Line-Up
Predicted Score
Liverpool 2-1 Wolves: The Reds have seen their season stutter in recent weeks so this game now has added importance. Klopp must ensure the players are fully focussed on Wolves and don’t have one eye on the upcoming Chelsea game. While I do think the visitors will give a good account of themselves, I can see Liverpool edging it.
Betting Tips
Liverpool are the 2/7 favourites to win the game but if you want more value then our prediction of 2-1 is available at odds of 8/1 while if we throw in Divock Origi as first goalscorer we get very tempting odds of 18/1.
