Liverpool need to get back to winning ways following a poor run of form in January when they travel to the KCOM Stadium to take on Hull City on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds haven’t tasted victory in any of their previous four league games and have won just one of their past nine games in all competitions – a run which has left them out of both domestic cup competitions and trailing Chelsea by ten points.

However, Jurgen Klopp would have been pleased by the way his side came from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw against the run-away Premier League leaders in midweek but they desperately need to pick up all three points tomorrow or they can kiss the title goodbye for another year.

Ordinarily Liverpool should be confident of beating the side that sits second from bottom in the table but Hull have turned a corner under new boss Marco Silva and not only did they hold Manchester United to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in midweek but they’ve won all three home games under Silva since he replaced Mike Phelan.

Team news

Liverpool have no fresh injury worries to contend with so Klopp has virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from and Sadio Mane is expected to come back in to the side after making a successful appearance off the bench in midweek.

Nathaniel Clyne is also expected to keep his place at right-back after suffering no reaction on Tuesday as he continues to carry a rib injury.

Hull will include new signings Kamil Grosicki and Alfred N’Diaye in the squad while Andrea Ranocchia is also pushing for his first start after making a second half appearance against United.

Dieumerci Mbokani is available again after returning from the African Nations Cup but Ahmed Elmohamady is still on international duty while Lazar Markovic can’t play against his parent club.

Predicted Score

Hull 1-2 Liverpool: Liverpool won the reverse fixture 5-1 at Anfield but I expect this will be a far more difficult game for the Merseysiders. Hull are a much more solid unit under Silva and I do think they’ll give the Reds a tough game, but I’m backing Klopp’s side the edge it.
