Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, the race for Ivan Perisic hots up…
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has flown out to Croatia to try and secure a £35m deal for Chelsea and Liverpool target Ivan Perisic, according to the Mirror.
The Croatian international attracted interest from the Premier League last summer after enjoying an excellent Euro 2016 and it appears he’s now caught the eye of English big-guns once again ahead of the summer window.
The Mirror claim that Liverpool are plotting a £30m bid for Perisic as Jurgen Klopp looks to be reunited with the winger having previously worked together during their time at Borussia Dortmund.
Antonio Conte is also understood to be after the Inter Milan winger with the newspaper saying Chelsea have also expressed their interest as the Italian coach looks to strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League.
However, it looks as though Liverpool and Chelsea have some catching up to do as the Mirror cite a report coming from The Sun that claims United boss Jose Mourinho has flown out to Croatia to try and thrash out a deal.
Perisic is in the Croatia squad for their World Cup qualifier against Ukraine this evening and the report indicates that Mourinho is in Zagreb to discuss a potential £35m deal to take the winger to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Former Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic is now an agent and the Mirror claim he is conducting the negotiations for Perisic’s sale so Mourinho’s relationship with him could prove key.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but as of now it looks as though United are in pole position to secure a deal for Perisic and I think he’d be an excellent addition for any squad.

He’s predominantly a left-winger, but Perisic is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d be a very useful signing for United, or indeed Chelsea or Liverpool, if any of the trio manage to get a deal agreed.
