Tottenham Team News: Pochettino Confirms 4 Players Will Miss West Ham Trip
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur will be without four players when they take on West Ham on Friday night.
Tottenham will be looking to keep the pressure on Chelsea when they take on West Ham at the London Stadium on Friday night.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update.
The Spurs boss has confirmed that Danny Rose is stepping-up his recovery from a knee ligament injury and is expected to resume full first team training next week.
Rose has been on the sidelines since late January and has been making good progress in his recovery in recent weeks but the full-back will still be unavailable for selection tomorrow night.
Pochettino also revealed that Cameron Carter-Vickers is continuing his rehabilitation from a knee injury but the young defender is unlikely to be available before the end of the season.
There was also a brief update on Harry Winks and Erik Lamela with the Argentinean coach confirming that the pair are continuing to work on their recoveries from ankle and hip injuries but will also not feature again this campaign.
Pochettino told the clubs website:
Cameron Carter-Vickers
Cameron is continuing his rehabilitation although it remains unlikely he will be available for the remainder of this season.Danny Rose
Danny is stepping up his integration into First Team training, with a view to returning to full training next week.Harry Winks & Erik Lamela
Both players are continuing rehabilitation and will miss the rest of the season.
Spurs head in to the weekend action still very-much in the title race having maintained a four-point gap from Chelsea with a 2-0 win over north London rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane last weekend.
They now have the opportunity to really put the pressure on the league leaders by cutting their advantage to just a single point with a win over West Ham tomorrow ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
