The Blues opened the scoring midway through the first half when skipper John Terry turned the ball home from close range following a 22nd minute corner before Etienne Capoue levelled things up for Watford just two minutes later.
Cesar Azpilicueta then lashed home from the edge of the box to restore Chelsea’s lead in the 36th minute before Michy Batshuayi made it 3-1 shortly after half-time with a tap-in from close range.
Watford reduced the deficit to 3-2 in the 51st minute when Daryl Janmaat danced his way through the Chelsea defence to slot home past Asmir Begovic.
The visitors then grabbed an unlikely equaliser in the 74th minute when Stefano Okaka scrambled home following a Ton Cleverley cross, however, Chelsea won it late on when Cesc Fabregas came off the bench to swept home from the edge of the area to ensure the newly-crowned champions celebrated in style.
