Spanish Star Agrees Personal Terms With Man Utd Ahead Of Proposed £60m Move
Alvaro Morata has agreed personal terms with Manchester United with the Red Devils in talks with Real Madrid to wrap-up a potential £60m deal for the striker
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Alvaro Morata has agreed terms to join Man Utd…
Alvaro Morata has agreed personal terms with Manchester United and the Red Devils are in talks with Real Madrid to wrap-up a potential £60m deal for the striker, according to the Telegraph.
Jose Mourinho is in the market for a new top class front-man after releasing Zlatan Ibrahimovic today and Morata has emerged as a prime target after United missed out on Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
Sky Sports News reported earlier this week that United were weighing-up a fresh bid after seeing their opening £52.4m offer rejected by Madrid with the La Liga giants holding out for a fee closer to £78m.
It looks like United have now edged closer to securing a deal as the Telegraph are reporting that Morata has now agreed personal terms in principal and he’s waiting for the two clubs to agree a fee.
The newspaper says United are hoping a second offer worth £60m will be enough to tempt Madrid in to a deal with Morata already telling friends he expects to be playing at Old Trafford next season.
The 24-year-old is seemingly keen to leave the Bernabeu after failing to hold down a regular place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven last season with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Morata started just 16 games in all competitions so with the World Cup finals coming up next summer, he can’t afford another campaign on the bench and his agent confirmed the striker wants to be playing more regularly.
Juanma Lopez is quoted as saying by the Telegraph:
“He [Morata] doesn’t want to go through another season like that. It was a great season, but he wants to play more. Alvaro is a player who wants to play a more important role. He wants to play more. That’s normal for a striker who’s scored 19 goals. It’s not enough.”
It looks as though Morata is on his way to United where he should be guaranteed more regular action as the Red Devils have a lack of strikers with Ibrahimovic gone and Wayne Rooney expected to follow him out the exit door.
Mourinho certainly needs to add more goals to his team as they were the lowest scorers in the top seven last season and I think Morata will prove to be an excellent addition.

Despite his lack of playing time last season, the Spanish international still managed to score an impressive 20 goals and I think he has all the attributes to be a real success here in the Premier League.
