Arsenal Shareholder Urges Wenger To Launch £80m Swoop For Chelsea Star
An Arsenal shareholder has urged Arsene Wenger to launch a stunning £80m swoop on Chelsea for unsettled striker Diego Costa.
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with a move for Diego Costa…
Arsenal shareholder and controversial TV personality Piers Morgan has urged Arsene Wenger to launch a stunning £80m swoop on Chelsea for unsettled striker Diego Costa.
The Brazilian-born hitman has just come off the back of what on the face of it was a positive campaign as he continued to enhance his reputation as one of the best strikers in the Premier League after netting 20 goals to help lead Chelsea to the title.
However, the 28-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge was called in to question when he was linked with a big-money move to China in January amid reports of a bust-up with Antonio Conte.
It appears the Blues boss hasn’t forgiven Costa for his actions as the striker revealed earlier this week that Conte had informed him via text message that he was no longer needed and should find a new club this summer.
Costa is quoted as saying by the Daily Star:
“I’m a Chelsea player, but they do not want me there. Antonio Conte has told me by message that I do not follow at Chelsea and that’s it. Conte said he did not count on me for next season.
“My relationship with the coach has been bad this season. It’s a shame, I’ve already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide. You have to find a team.”
There is expected to be plenty of interest in Costa’s services as he’s a top class striker and a certain Arsenal shareholder and season ticker holder is keen for Wenger to make an audacious swoop.
Piers Morgan – who now works as a TV presenter and columnist for the Daily Mail – is a life long Arsenal fan and tweeted today that his club should test Chelsea’s resolve with an £80m offer for Costa.
Arsenal should bid £80 million for Diego Costa. Then keep bidding until we get him.

It’s highly unlikely that Wenger will listen to Morgan’s plea and made a shock move for Costa but I’m sure that despite his questionable reputation in England, there will be some other Gooners who’d love to see the Spanish international move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are in desperate need of a top class striker so Costa would fit the bill in many ways but I can’t see Chelsea agreeing to do business with their London rivals even if Wenger was to express an interest.
