Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd close-in on Talisca….
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Anderson Talisca ahead of a potential £20m move from Benfica this summer, according to reports in Turkey via The Sun.
Jose Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy summer and he knows he needs to add more creativity to his squad after United registered just 54 Premier League goals last season.
The Manchester giants have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks but Talisca has emerged as a key target after being strongly tipped to secure a move to Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old joined Benfica from Brazilian side Bahia in 2014 and developed in to one of the most promising young midfielders in Portuguese football before joining Besiktas on loan last summer.
Talisca was a big success in Turkey after scoring 17 goals and providing a further 6 assists in his 33 appearances to help Besiktas win the title and he is due to stay on loan for another 12 months.
However, it looks like United are ready to try and scupper that deal as the Mirror reported last week that the Red Devils were lining-up a move for Talisca after Mourinho was impressed by his form last season.
A potential deal has now moved a huge step closer to becoming a reality as The Sun are citing reports from Turkish newspaper AMK that claim United have now agreed personal terms with the attacker over a move to Old Trafford.
The newspaper says Besiktas have the option to buy Talisca for £20m this summer but United are ready to offer Benfica the same amount to lure the South American to England instead.
The news comes after Talisca told reporters recently that Mourinho has ‘love’ for him and he dreams of playing for a club like United in the Premier League. He’s quoted by the Mirror as saying:
“I’ve had a good season, and Mourinho has a love [for me] that exists, I will not lie.
“It’s a dream, something that all players want. As I said, his love is old and I like his work. He’s a great coach and I hope everything works out.”
“I can’t talk about Manchester United. It’s not just up to me. It’s up to Benfica, my representatives, who are dealing with the situation. Soon, they’ll have news.”
United have already done business with Benfica after securing the signing of Victor Lindelof last week so no doubt they’ll be hoping to use their strong relationship with the Portuguese giants to seal a deal for Talisca too.

The Brazilian is predominantly played as a central attacking midfielder but he’s also capable of playing as a second striker so Talisca could be viewed as a potential replacement for Wayne Rooney – who’s tipped to leave this summer.
