Man Utd Expect To Complete Deal For £50m Attacker, Personal Terms Already Agreed
Man Utd expected to complete a deal to sign Ivan Perisic over the coming week and have already agreed personal terms with the £50m-rated Inter Milan winger
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd close in on a deal to sign Ivan Perisic….
Manchester United expected to complete a deal to sign Ivan Perisic over the coming week and have already agreed personal terms with the £50m-rated Inter Milan winger, according to the Independent.
Jose Mourinho completed a £75m deal to sign Romelu Lukaku yesterday and has also signed centre-back Victor Lindelof from Benfica but the United boss is still looking to further strengthen his squad.
With the Red Devils about to return to the Champions League this coming season Mourinho knows he needs a stronger squad and it looks as though he wants to add to his attacking options.
Perisic has been touted as a prime target in the media in recent months and it looked as though a deal was close when the Manchester Evening News reported last month that the winger was already planning for life at Old Trafford.
Things went a little quiet over the past few weeks but the rumour mill has gone in to overdrive again with the Independent claiming that sources close to the deal expect it to be completed over the next week.
The newspaper says that Perisic has already agreed personal terms over the move and while United have been haggling over a fee, the report suggests a deal worth up to £50m is expected to be wrapped-up soon.
New Inter boss Luciano Spalletti said recently that he planned to hold talks with Perisic and was still hopeful of persuading him to stay at the San Siro for the coming campaign.
Spalletti is quoted by the Independent as saying:
“There’ll be fewer chances for those players who are distracted, and better opportunities for those who want to stick with Inter,”
“Perisic is an important player for us, we’re counting on him. Let’s see what he has to say, I don’t expect him to say that he wants to leave, that would be bad. We’ll see what his intentions are.
“But it’s just you [the media] who are telling me he wants to go, he’s not said anything to me. But we are Inter and so we can decide to do whatever we want.”
However, Perisic is likely to confirm his intention to leave when he does meet with Spalletti and the 28-year-old should then be free to complete his proposed switch to Old Trafford.
The Croatian international joined Inter from Wolfsburg in 2015 and has just come of the back of an excellent campaign that saw him score 11 goals and provide a further 12 assists in all competitions.
He’s predominantly played as a left-winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so his versatility and hard working attitude will have appealed to Mourinho.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but I think this is one deal that will eventually get over the line and feel Perisic will be an excellent signing for United.
