Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are ready to up their offer for Ivan Perisic…
Manchester United are ready to table an improved £50m bid for Ivan Perisic and are confident it will be enough to finally get a deal agreed with Inter Milan, according to a report in the Express.
Jose Mourinho has already splashed out big money to sign centre-back Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku but it appears the United boss is looking to further strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League.
Perisic has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks but United have struggled to get a fee agreed with Inter despite holding lengthy negotiations with the Italians.
United had initially hoped to take advantage of Inter’s need to raise funds in order to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations but the Serie A giants have proven difficult to deal with.
The Express claim they have already rejected United’s £45m offer and sporting director Piero Ausilio recently insisted that they were not interested in selling Perisic this summer.
The Inter chief is quoted by the Express as saying:
“It’s not happening. Perisic is training with us and so far we have not taken into consideration anything that Manchester United have offered us.”
However, despite Ausilio’s comments, the Express are citing a report from the Daily Star that claims United are ready to test Inter’s resolve with an improved £50m offer.
The newspaper says the Italian giants are holding out for around £55m but United are confident their £50m bid will be enough to finally get a deal agreed for Perisic’s signature.
We’ll have to wait and see whether that turns out to be the case but the Croatian international would be an excellent addition to the United squad if they do manage to lure him to Old Trafford this summer.

The 28-year-old is predominantly a left-winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions and he chipped in with 11 goals and 12 assists last season so he’d certainly add some much-needed creativity to Mourinho’s side.
