Manchester United have turned their attention to signing Serge Aurier and could sign the want-away Paris Saint-Germain full-back in a £25m deal this summer
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Serge Aurier…
Manchester United have turned their attention to signing Serge Aurier and could land the want-away Paris Saint-Germain full-back in a £25m deal this summer, according to the Independent.
Jose Mourinho is growing increasingly frustrated with United’s transfer business this summer after only landing two of their targets with Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku the only arrivals so far.
The United boss has made it clear he wants to bring in two more new signings and the Independent claim right-back is one of the areas Mourinho is looking to strengthen over the coming weeks.
Fabinho has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford and he would have been the ideal signing as the versatile Brazilian international is able to play at right-back and in central midfield – another area United need to add to this summer.
However, the Independent say Mourinho has been forced to look at alternative targets due to Monaco demanding over £40m for Fabinho and United have now seemingly turned their attention to Aurier.
The newspaper says the Red Devils are now focussing their attention on signing the Ivory Coast international and could feasibly get a deal agreed with PSG for around £25m.
Aurier joined the French giants in 2015 as one of the most exciting full-backs in Europe but the 24-year-old is now looking to leave the Parc des Prince following the arrival of Dani Alves from Juventus.
PSG boss Unai Emery has confirmed that Aurier wants to leave and asked to stay in Paris to resolve his future instead of going on the clubs pre-season tour of the US. Emery is quoted as saying by the Express:
“I spoke with Serge to tell him that I wanted him to stay.
“He told me that he wants to leave and he preferred staying in Paris (instead of going on tour to the USA) to prepare for his departure.”
Aurier would be an excellent signing at £25m in today’s market as he has the potential to be one of the best right-backs in Europe so I think he’d be a superb addition if United could get a deal agreed this summer.

Antonio Valencia has been one of the most consistent players in the United squad in recent years but a long-term replacement for the Ecuadorian international is needed and I think Aurier would be the ideal man for the job.
