Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Manchester United are linked with Emil Forsberg….
Manchester United have launched a £45m move to sign RB Leipzig attacker Emil Forsberg as Jose Mourinho looks for alternatives to Ivan Perisic, according to a report in The Sun.
Mourinho has already confirmed he’s desperate to further strengthen his squad this summer after only managing to land centre-back Victor Lindelof and striker Romelu Lukaku so far.
A new winger is on the agenda for the Portuguese coach and United have been strongly chasing Perisic in recent weeks but Inter Milan are proving difficult to deal with.
The Sun claim Perisic is keen on moving to Old Trafford but the Serie A giants have so far priced him out of a move so it’s meant Mourinho has been forced to looks in to alternative targets.
And it seems he’s now turned his attention to Forsberg as the newspaper is citing a report from the Metro that claims United have launched a £45m move for the Swedish international.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a sensational campaign last year as he scored 8 goals and provided an incredible 22 assists in all competitions – which was more than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
Understandably, Leipzig are keen to keep hold of Forsberg and have taken a tough stance with the attacker and star midfielder Naby Keita so it remains to be seen whether they’ll be prepared to cash-in.
Forsberg is predominantly a left winger so he’d fill a position that’s become something of a problem area for United after Anthony Martial struggled to hold down a regular place last season.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but Forsberg is a huge talent and I think he’d be an excellent addition to the United squad if they manage to get a deal agreed this summer.
