Ivan Perisic is still keen to join Manchester United this summer and Inter Milan are ready to do business if a £48m bid if put on the table, according to a report in the Express.
Jose Mourinho is desperately trying to sign a new winger after growing increasingly frustrated as the lack of progress being made in landing his key transfer targets this summer.
United have only wrapped-up deals to sign Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku so far as they’ve struggled to agree terms for several other players, including Perisic.
The Croatian international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks but Inter have proven difficult to deal with as coach Luciano Spalletti has made it clear he’d like to keep hold of the attacker this summer.
However, the new Inter boss has also given a clear indication that Perisic wants to join United after admitting recently that the club have to also consider the will of the player.
The Express are citing Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth as saying that Inter would be ready to do business if United tabled an offer worth £48m.
“Talking of Manchester United and their hopes of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, have they improved?” Sheth said
“Well Inter coach Luciano Spalletti wants the player to remain but gave an indication Perisic wants to move to Old Trafford.
“Spalletti is quoted as saying ‘we want him to stay but we have to consider the opinion of the club and the player’.
“It’s thought an offer of around £48million would tempt Inter Milan to sell Perisic to Manchester United.”
United obviously have the financial muscle to meet Inter’s reported asking price but it remains to be seen whether Mourinho will choose to pay £48m for Perisic or move on to other targets.
I think the 28-year-old would be an excellent signing for United as he scored 11 goals and provided a further 12 assists during a difficult campaign for Inter last season so he’d certainly add some much-needed creativity to Mourinho’s side.

He’s predominantly played on the left wing but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions and he also has the hard-working attitude that Mourinho demands from his players, so I think he’d be a good fit at Old Trafford if they can get a deal agreed.
