Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd resurrect their move for Ivan Perisic…
Manchester United have reopened talks with Ivan Perisic’s agent and are ready to meet Inter Milan’s £48m asking price to finally get a deal agreed for the winger this summer, according to the Mirror.
Jose Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to bring in one more player before the window closes at the end of the month with the United boss admitting on Friday that only 75% of his transfer targets have been secured.
United have already snapped-up Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof this summer but Mourinho wants another wide attacker and Perisic has been strongly touted as his prime target.
The Manchester Evening News reported last week that United were ready to renew their interest in the Croatian international after seeing two previous bids rejected by Inter.
It seems the deal is now back on as the Mirror claim today that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has now reopened talks with Perisic’s agent Fali Ramadani in a bid to resurrect the transfer.
The newspaper says Woodward is desperate to provide Mourinho with his fourth signing of the summer and is now ready to meet Inter’s £48m asking price in order to get the deal agreed.
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming days but it looks like United could now be closing-in on the final piece of Mourinho’s jigsaw and I think Perisic would be an excellent addition at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old is a hard working winger so he’d fit in perfectly with Mourinho’s philosophy while he’s also a huge threat in the final third as he in with 11 goals and 12 assists last season.

United could certainly do with more firepower in attack as they managed to score just 54 goals last season – which was by far the lowest out of the top seven teams – so you can see why Mourinho is keen to land Perisic this summer.
