Tottenham Hotspur are set to clinch a £32m double swoop for Paris Saint-Germain full-back Serge Aurier and Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth, according to ESPN.
Mauricio Pochettino has started to kick-off his late spending spree in the market with the north Londoners agreeing deals to sign Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez and Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga in recent days.
The Spurs boss doesn’t look like stopping any time soon as the Argentinean coach has two further new additions in his sights as he looks to further strengthen his defensive options before the window shuts.
ESPN claim Tottenham are closing-in on the signing of Aurier with the right-back set to sign a five-year contract after a £23m deal was agreed with French giants PSG.
Aurier has been tipped to leave the Parc des Princes following the arrival of Dani Alves and Tottenham emerged as the front-runners ahead of a number of other top European teams.
Pochettino is in desperate need of another right-back following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City and ESPN say Aurier will complete his move to White Hart Lane once he obtains proof his appeal against a two-month prison sentence was successful.
The 24-year-old was convicted of assaulting a police officer outside a Paris nightclub last summer and his lawyer is waiting to receive a court document confirming his appeal was successful so he can obtain a work permit and complete his move to Spurs.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are also on the verge of signing another centre-back with ESPN claiming that the north Londoners have beaten off competition from PSG to land Foyth after Pochettino stepped-in to hold personal talks with the player.
The Argentinean U20 international has been strongly linked with Tottenham all summer and the Guardian reported last weekend that they were in talks with Estudiantes over a £9m deal.
It seems those negotiations are coming to a close as the report indicates that the 19-year-old has snubbed interest from PSG in favour of linking up with his compatriot Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
