Some of the Manchester United players have been reacting on social media after kicking off their Champions League campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over FC Basel last night.
Marouane Fellaini came off the bench to open the scoring with a close-range header before Romelu Lukaku continued his fine start to life at United by making it 2-0 shortly after half-time.
Marcus Rashford was introduced as a second half substitute and the youngster marked his Champions League debut with a goal to wrap-up a routine 3-0 win for United at Old Trafford.
The victory means United top Group A on goal difference after CSKA Moscow beat Benfica 2-1 in Portugal and some of the players have now been reacting on social media.
Lukaku took to Twitter to send a message of thanks to the United fans for their support and to express his delight at opening their Champions League campaign with a win.
Rashford, Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young and David De Gea also posted messages on Twitter as the United players celebrated their return to Europe’s elite competition.
