Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Offers Update As 5 Players Miss Benfica Clash
Manchester United take on Benfica at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. Here is a team news update ahead of the Champions League clash
Manchester United will be looking book their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on Benfica at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided reporters with a team news and injury update.
The United boss was pleased to confirm that the club have no fresh injury concerns to worry about following Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Eric Bailly came through the full ninety minutes unscathed after making his return to action following several weeks out with a groin injury that he picked up during the last international break.
Fellow centre-back Phil Jones also made a successful return to the starting eleven at the weekend after not featuring during the League Cup win at Swansea City last week due to a knock.
Neither player suffered any reaction and Mourinho has confirmed none of his squad picked up any concerns against Spurs:

However, none of United’s other injured players are ready to make their comebacks tomorrow night so the Red Devils will continue to be without five of their first team regulars.
Marcos Rojo is expected to be available again after the November international break having stepped-up his recovery from a knee ligament injury that’s kept him out since last season.
Michael Carrick is still struggling to overcome a mystery illness while Paul Pobga is working his way back to full fitness from a serious hamstring injury that hampered him since mid-September.
Midfielder Marouane Fellaini is also out with a knee injury while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still recovering from a knee ligament injury that he sustained back in April.
Mourinho still has a strong squad to choose from tomorrow as he looks to secure a win over Benfica that would book their place in the knockout stages having already picked up maximum points from their three group games so far.
