Tottenham v Real Madrid: Team News | Expected Line-Ups | Prediction | Betting
Tottenham take on Real Madrid at Wembley tonight. Here is our preview with team news, line-ups, prediction and betting
Tottenham will look to book their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they take on Real Madrid at Wembley this evening.
The two sides currently sit level on points at the top of Group H with identical records after the opening three games so this match will go a long way to determining who finishes first.
Spurs took away a hugely credible 1-1 draw from the Bernabeu two weeks ago which leaves them six points clear of third-placed Borussia Dortmund after they were held by APOEL.
Therefore, a win tonight for either Spurs or Madrid would book their place in the draw for the knockout stages of the competition with two games to spare.
The hosts warmed up for the game with a 1-0 defeat at Manchester United while Madrid also slumped to a shock loss at Girona on Sunday so both sides will be looking to bounce back this evening.
Team news
Tottenham have been handed a major boost with the news that Harry Kane is expected to start after making a swift recovery from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out of the last two games.
Erik Lamela could be in the squad after finally recovering from a long-term hip injury but Victor Wanyama remains out with an on-going knee problem.
Former Spurs star Gareth Bale hasn’t travelled to London after failing to recover from a calf injury that’s kept him on the sidelines for the past month.
Madrid are also without centre-back Rafael Varane after he picked up a muscle problem at the weekend while first-choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas is also out.
Dani Carvajal and Mateo Kovacic remain unavailable for selection but Isco has been passed fit despite being forced off with a thigh issue at the weekend.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 1-1 Real Madrid: The reigning European champions come in to the game in poor form and they will be missing a few key players so Spurs could be confident of pulling off a memorable win. However, Madrid haven’t lost in their last 30 Champions League group games so it’s certainly not going to be an easy task. I hope for an entertaining game but fancy Madrid to take home a point.
Betting Tips
Madrid are the 6/5 favourites with the bookmakers to win the game but we can get new customers enhanced odds of 30/1 on the visitors or 40/1 on Spurs – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds [winning paid in free bets, max stake £1, T&C’s apply].
However, I think it will be a draw so here are some other bets I like the look of:
- Both teams to score at: 1/2 – a £10 bet would return £15
- Exact score of 1-1 draw at: 7/1 – a £10 bet would return £80
- Kane to score first and Ramos to be carded first at: 40/1 – a £10 bet would return £410
