Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham: Team News | Expected XI’s | Prediction | Betting
Tottenham take on Borrusia Dortmund in the Champions League tonight. Here is our preview with team news, line-ups and match prediction
Tottenham will look to tighten their grip at the top of Group H when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League tonight.
Mauricio Pochettino was hugely disappointed with Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday which has left them sitting 11 points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Spurs boss will be looking for a response from his players this evening as look to secure top spot in their Champions League group by either beating Dortmund or matching Real Madrid’s result against APOEL.
Tottenham took control of Group H and booked their place in the knockout stages with a sensational 3-1 victory over Madrid earlier this month so Pochettino will be looking to finish the job by finishing top.
However, they’ll be up against a dangerous Dortmund side who’ll be desperate to make up for their poor showing in the Champions League this campaign having taken just two points from their four games so far.
Team news
Tottenham will continue to be without Toby Alderweireld as he’s out until Christmas with a hamstring injury while Victor Wanyama is also still recovering from a knee problem.
Pochettino is expected to freshen things up with Danny Rose set for a recall after being left out of the squad for the defeat to Arsenal while Serge Aurier could also return on the right.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli could be rested as they didn’t look fit at the weekend with Fernando Llorente and Heung-min Son recalled in attack.
Dortmund will recall star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he was dropped for the defeat to Stuttgart on Friday after arriving late for a team training session.
Expected line-ups
Match Predcition
Dortmund 2-1 Tottenham: The Germans have only lost one of their previous eight meetings at home to English opposition so I think this is going to be a tough test for a weakened Spurs team – despite Dortmund’s poor form this season. Tottenham have already booked their place in the knockout stages so there isn’t too much left for them to play for, so I think Dortmund will edge this 2-1.
