Man Utd Team News: Mourinho Confirms Quadruple Injury Blow Ahead Of Leicester Trip
Jose Mourinho has confirmed a quadruple injury blow with the news that 4 Manchester United players will miss the trip to Leicester this weekend.
Manchester United will look to bounce back from their shock League Cup defeat when they take on Leicester City at the King Power on Saturday night.
Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The United boss confirmed a quadruple injury blow with the news that Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick will all miss the trip to Leicester this weekend.
Valencia was forced off with a hamstring injury during United’s 2-1 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns last weekend and the Ecuadorian international has failed to recover in time to be available tomorrow.
Fellaini has been struggling to overcome a niggling knee injury that he sustained while away on international duty with the Belgian squad last month and the midfielder is no closer to making his comeback.
Carrick hasn’t featured for United since discovering a heart condition several weeks ago and Mourinho believes he and Fellaini are unlikely to be available over the Christmas period.
It means the duo will remain sidelined along with Bailly as the centre-back has been ruled out for at least two months after undergoing surgery on an on-going ankle injury that he suffered in early November.

It will be a big blow for United to be without Valencia as Matteo Darmian struggled against Bristol City in midweek so it’s going to be interesting to see who Mourinho goes with at right-back in his absence this weekend.
United head to the King Power sitting 11 points adrift of run-away leaders Manchester City so they desperately need to beat Leicester in order to maintain any hopes of catching their rivals in the title race.
