Jesse Lingard came off the bench to score a second half brace as Manchester United came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Burnley at Old Trafford this evening.
The visitors got off to a dream start as Ashley Barnes fired home following a scramble at the far post to give Burnley a surprise lead in the 3rd minute.
United were well below their best as Sean Dyche’s men continued to cause problems and they doubled their advantage in the 36th minute as Steven Defour curled home a superb free-kick to make it 2-0.
Jose Mourinho was forced in to changes at the break as Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan replaced Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo and the substitutions worked a treat.
After missing a sitter from close range, Lingard pulled one back as the England international flicked home a lovely backheel to make it 1-2 in the 54th minute.
Lingard then scored the equaliser in stoppage time to salvage a point as he lashed home a loose ball from 18 yard to make it 2-2 in the 91st minute at Old Trafford.
