Liverpool Could Hijack Man Utd’s £22m Deal To Sign Brazilian International
Liverpool have been offered the chance to hijack Manchester United’s proposed deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura
The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Liverpool are linked with Lucas Moura…
Liverpool have been offered the chance to hijack Manchester United’s proposed deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura, according to a report in the Express.
Moura is expected to leave the Parc des Prince this month after falling out-of-favour under Unai Emery this season with the attacker playing just 71 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this campaign.
The likes of Neymar, Julian Draxler, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria are all ahead of him in the pecking order so it’s no surprise that Moura is eyeing a move in order to rejuvenate his career ahead of the World Cup.
The Brazilian international has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United with the Mirror reporting earlier this week that Moura had agreed to join the Red Devils this month.
Jose Mourinho is looking to further strengthen his attacking options and the report suggested that United were in advanced talks with PSG to secure a £22.1m deal to land Moura.
However, it looks like United could face some stiff competition as the Express are citing a report from Le Parisian that claims Liverpool have now been offered the chance to sign the 25-year-old from under United’s noses.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market for attacking reinforcements following Philippe Coutinho’s £142m move to Barcelona and Moura has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past.
The South American wouldn’t be a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho as Moura is predominantly a right winger but Klopp might be tempted to sign him as £22.1m is a relative bargain in today’s market.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will step-up their interest but I think Moura would be an excellent piece of business for Liverpool or United if either club manage to get a deal agreed this month.
