Liverpool Transfer News: Klopp In Battle To Sign Brazilian Star
Liverpool are facing a fierce battle to sign Alisson after Paris Saint-Germain entered the chase to sign the talented AS Roma goalkeeper
The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Liverpool face a fight to sign Alisson…
Liverpool are facing a fierce battle to sign Alisson after Paris Saint-Germain entered the chase to sign the talented AS Roma goalkeeper, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Jurgen Klopp is on the look-out for a new number one as neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius have managed to establish themselves between the sticks over the past two seasons.
Mignolet has been Klopp’s preferred choice for much of this campaign but the Belgian international has once again been dropped in recent weeks following some poor displays.
The 29-year-old voiced his concern earlier this week over what he believes is an ‘unhealthy’ situation as Klopp continues to chop and change his goalkeepers throughout the season.
Karius has failed to grasp his latest opportunity as he was poor during the recent win over Man City where he shipped three goals and it seems Liverpool are finally ready to dip in to the market to find a reliable number one.
It looks like Klopp has already got a name in mind as the Liverpool Echo claim that Alisson has emerged as a prime target for Liverpool but the Merseysiders will face stiff competition from PSG.
The Ligue 1 giants have been strongly linked with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma in recent weeks but the newspaper says they have now turned they attention to Alisson.
The Brazilian international joined Roma from Inter Milan in 2016 and has developed in to one of the most consistent keepers in Serie A over the past two years.

The 25-year-old would be a superb signing if Liverpool could lure him to Anfield either this month or in summer but PSG will obviously provide strong competition as they have the financial firepower to match anything the Reds can pay.
