Tottenham Steal March On Man Utd After Opening Talks To Sign £35m Brazilian
Tottenham have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal to sign £35m-rated Manchester United target Lucas Moura this month
The January transfer window is in full swing so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, Tottenham are linked with Lucas Moura…
Tottenham have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal to sign £35m-rated Manchester United target Lucas Moura this month, according to L’Equipe via the Metro.
Moura is expected to leave the Parc des Prince after falling out-of-favour under Unai Emery this season with the winger playing just 75 minutes of Ligue 1 football so far this campaign.
The Brazilian international has struggled to force his way in to the starting eleven with the likes of Neymar, Julian Draxler, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria are all ahead of him in the pecking order.
It’s no surprise then that Moura is eyeing a move in order to rejuvenate his career ahead of the World Cup while PSG need to sell to help balance the books to comply with Financial Fair Play guidelines.
The winger has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks and Moura was quoted in the Mirror last week as refusing to rule out a switch to Old Trafford this month.
However, with United now closing-in on Alexis Sanchez it remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho is still in the market for another attacker and that could have opened the door for Tottenham.
The Metro are citing a report from L’Equipe that claims Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has now held negotiations with PSG about signing Moura on an initial loan deal.
However, the report says the Ligue 1 giants are only interested in selling the Brazilian international on a permanent deal and have set their asking price at around £35m.
Levy is known to be a tough negotiator and the French outlet claims the Tottenham supremo is trying to drive down the price because Moura’s contract expires in the summer of 2019.

We’ll have to wait and see how the discussions progress but I think Moura would be an exciting addition to the Spurs squad if the north Londoners can get a deal agreed this month.
