Liverpool are ready to do-battle with Tottenham over a bargain £12m swoop for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to a report in the Mirror.
Brozovic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015 and has enjoyed mixed success at the San Siro having scored 17 goals and provided a further 11 assists in his 95 appearances so far.
The Croatian international has been in and out the starting eleven over the past two years with a series of niggling injuries hampering his progress but he’s still highly regarded as a midfielder with huge potential.
Brozovic has started just seven games for Inter this season and is rumoured to be open to the idea of a fresh start in search of regular first team football ahead of the World Cup finals.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to England on several occasions during recent transfer windows and it seems his situation has once again alerted clubs here in the Premier League.
The Mirror are citing reports from Italy that claim Liverpool have now joined Tottenham in the race to sign Brozovic with Inter ready to consider offers in the region of just £12m – which is a relative bargain in today’s market.
Jurgen Klopp is on the look out for another central midfielder amid on-going doubts surrounding the future of Emre Can and the newspaper says he’s a keen admirer of Brozovic.
However, Spurs are also seemingly in the running to sign the Croatian midfielder as Mauricio Pochettino continues to build a title-challenging squad in north London.

It will be interesting to see how this develops but I think Brozovic could turn out to be a shrewd signing if either Liverpool or Spurs get a deal agreed as he’s got plenty of untapped potential if he’s given the chance to prove himself on a consistent basis.
