Tottenham Confident Of Wrapping-Up £25m Deal To Sign South American Attacker
Tottenham are confident they will wrap-up a deal worth around £25m to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura before the transfer window closes
The January transfer window is in full swing so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer. Today, the latest on Lucas Moura’s move to Tottenham…
Tottenham are confident they will wrap-up a deal worth around £25m to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Lucas Moura before the transfer window closes on Wednesday, according to the Evening Standard.
Moura is set to leave the Parc des Prince this month after failing to force his way in to Unai Emery’s side this season with the winger yet to start a Ligue 1 game this campaign.
The Brazilian international is behind the likes of Neymar, Julian Draxler, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria in the pecking order so he needs to secure regular first team football ahead of the World Cup finals.
Moura’s situation alerted a number of Premier League clubs but the Daily Mail reported late last week that Tottenham had emerged as the front runners to sign the talented attacker.
The newspaper said Moura has already agreed personal terms with Spurs over a four-and-a-half year contract after meeting Mauricio Pochettino and being shown around the clubs training facilities.
However, a deal is yet to be agreed with PSG but it seems Tottenham are confident of reaching an agreement as the Ligue 1 giants need to sell to help balance the books to meet Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules.
The Evening Standard claim PSG are holding out for £26.5m while Spurs are pushing for a fee closer to £22m plus bonuses but a compromise deal should be agreed at around £25m.
Time is obviously running out and the newspaper says Spurs are conscious that they need to secure a work permit for the 25-year-old before Wednesday’s 11pm deadline but they are hopeful a deal will be pushed through before the window closes.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming hours but I think Moura would be a shrewd piece of business by Tottenham if they can sign him at around £25m as he’s got huge potential if he’s given a chance to prove himself.
