Tottenham take on Stoke City at the Britannia on Saturday afternoon. Here is our preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to cement their top four place when they take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs are in an excellent position to qualify for the Champions League once again next season after beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
That victory moved Tottenham eight points clear of fifth-place so another win over Stoke tomorrow should all-but secure the north Londoners place in the top four.
In fact, Mauricio Pochettino’s men can now start to concentrate on reeling in Manchester United as they can move to within just one point of second place with a win at the Britannia.
Spurs should be confident as they’ll take on a Stoke side that site 19th in the table but Paul Lambert’s men will be fighting for their lives as they try to claw their way out of the relegation zone.
Team news
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is set to be recalled to the starting eleven after making a 20 minute cameo appearance off the bench against Chelsea having made a swift recovery from an ankle injury.
Pochettino may be tempted to rotate his full-backs with Serge Aurier and Danny Rose pushing for recalls in defence.
However, Harry Winks is still missing due to an ankle problem while it remains to be seen whether Toby Alderweireld will be recalled after being left out of the squad last weekend.
Stoke will hand a late fitness test to Kurt Zouma after he returned to training yesterday but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set to miss out because of a groin injury.
Expected Lie-Ups
Predicted Score
Stoke 0-2 Tottenham: Spurs have won their last two visits to the Britannia and they’ve beaten Stoke by a four-goal margin in each of their last four league games. Stoke were woeful against Arsenal last weekend and I don’t think they’ll fare much better tomorrow so I’m going for a routine away win.
