The summer transfer window is drawing to a close and managers are working hard to secure last minute deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Tottenham are linked with Stanislav Lobotka…
Tottenham are expected to wrap-up a deal to sign Stanislav Lobotka this week after submitting a £31m offer for the Celta Vigo midfielder, according to reports via TeamTalk.
Mauricio Pochettino has endured a frustrating summer as chairman Daniel Levy is yet to complete the signing of a single one of his transfer targets so far but Tottenham are expected to be extremely active during the closing stages of the window.
The north Londoners are being tipped to sign another central midfielder as Mousa Dembele and Moussa Sissoko are reportedly on the market and could leave before Thursday’s deadline and Spurs have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks.
However, a new name has emerged as TeamTalk are citing a report from Spanish outlet El Desmarque that claims Tottenham are closing-in on a deal to sign Slovakian international midfielder Stanislav Lobotka.
The 23-year-old joined Celta from FC Nordsjaelland last summer for just £4m but enjoyed a hugely impressive debut campaign in La Liga having been virtually ever-present for his new club last season.
His excellent form has caught the eye of several clubs as TeamTalk says the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli and Inter Milan have all shown an interest in signing Lobotka this summer.
However, none of his potential suitors have formalised their interest and that’s left the door open for Tottenham to come in and try to lure the midfielder to north London before the close of the window on Thursday night.
El Desmarque, via TeamTalk, says Spurs have now tested Celta’s resolve with a £31m bid and they are expected to get a deal agreed as that figure is just short of Lobotka’s £35m release clause.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but if Tottenham do end up buying Lobotka then he’d become Pochettino’s first major signing of the summer and be an exciting player for the future.
