Tottenham vs Fulham Preview | Team News | Likely Line-Up’s | Predicted Score
Tottenham take on Fulham at Wembley on Saturday afternoon. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Tottenham play their first ‘home’ game of the new Premier League season when they welcome Fulham to Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
Spurs have confirmed the opening of their expensive new stadium is facing further delays until at least October so the north Londoners are set to play a minimum of four games at Wembley over the coming months.
They will be comfortable playing at the national stadium having made it their temporary home throughout last season and they enjoyed an excellent record at Wembley so there will be no excuses tomorrow.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side opened their campaign with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park last weekend so they’ll be keen to make it two wins from two games on Saturday afternoon.
Tottenham will play a Fulham side who showed huge ambition in the summer having splashed out on eleven new signings following their promotion from the Championship last season.
However, the Cottagers lost to Crystal Palace on the opening weekend so they’ll be desperate to bounce back with a positive result against Spurs tomorrow.
Team news
Tottenham will be without Heung-min Son as the attacker is away with South Korea at the Asian Games but Erik Lamela is in contention after recovering from a minor muscle injury that kept him out of the Newcastle game.
Harry Winks is also back in full training following a serious ankle injury but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit enough for a place on the bench this weekend.
Victor Wanyama has stepped-up his recovery from a knee injury but the Fulham game comes too soon for the Kenyan international. Kieran Trippier and Mousa Dembele are pushing for recalls to the starting eleven.
Fulham will be without Alfie Mawson and Tim Ream due to injury but Joe Bryan is available after recovering from a minor ankle problem.
Denis Odoi remains suspended following his sending off in the play-off final last season but midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is pushing to make his debut following his deadline day move from Marseille.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Tottenham 2-0 Fulham: Spurs have an excellent record against Fulham having won eight of their last nine Premier League meetings and they’ve only lost two of their last 38 home league games so Pochettino will be confident of picking up all three points tomorrow. Fulham’s new-look team is going to take some time to gel so I can’t see past a routine home win at Wembley.
