Tottenham confident of sealing £33.5m double swoop as attacker completes medical
Tottenham are confident of pulling off a £33.5m double swoop to sign two of England’s most talented young attackers.
Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, we have news on two possible arrivals at Tottenham….
First up and according to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are confident of sealing a £25m deal to sign Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon as Mauricio Pochettino looks to strengthen his attacking options this summer.
Spurs have been tracking Sessegnon for over 12 months but the 19-year-old decided to remain at Craven Cottage for at least another year following Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League last summer.
However, with the Cottagers heading straight back to the Championship after finishing 19th last season, Sessegnon is expected to find a new club and it looks like Tottenham have renewed their interest.
The Daily Mail says Spurs are refusing to meet Fulham’s £45m valuation as they are confident they can get a deal agreed at just £25m given Sessegnon refusal to sign a new contract with Scott Parker’s side.
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress but Sessegnon would be an exciting addition to Tottenham’s squad if they could lure him to North London as he’s one of the hottest young talents in British football.
The teenager came through the ranks at Fulham as a left-back but he’s developed into more of a left winger in recent years so his versatility would be viewed as a very useful asset by Pochettino.
The Tottenham coach is set to further strengthen his attacking options as Sky Sports claims Jack Clarke has completed his medical ahead of an £8.5m move from Leeds United.
The 18-year-old has been strongly tipped for a move to White Hart Lane this summer after emerging from the Leeds youth academy to become one of the most highly-rated youngsters outside of the Premier League.
Clarke made 25 first team appearances for Leeds last season to help them finish third in the Championship but he couldn’t help them seal promotion following their defeat to Derby County in the play-offs.
However, the youngster is now set for a move to the Premier League after Spurs agreed an £8.5m fee with Leeds for his signature and Clarke should be unveiled as Tottenham’s first signing of the summer soon.
