Tottenham are set to wrap-up a £20m plus add-ons deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham as Mauricio Pochettino continues to splash the cash this summer, according to the Mirror.
Spurs have already broken their club transfer record to sign midfielder Tangay Ndombele from Lyon while they’ve signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United in a deal that will see the youngster spend next season back on loan at Elland Road.
Pochettino is expected to bring in further new recruits before the window slams shut and Tottenham are tipped to sign another left-back after Danny Rose was left out of their pre-season tour in order to negotiate a move away from the club.
Sessegnon has been touted as a potential replacement as the 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to north London throughout the summer after refusing to sign a new contract at Fulham following their demotion to the Championship.
The England Under-21 international has just one year remaining on his current deal so Fulham know they have to cash-in this summer while they can still demand a sizable transfer fee for a player that came through their youth system.
The situation has alerted Spurs and the Mirror claim Tottenham are now on the verge of wrapping-up a £20m plus add ons deal for the youngster after finding a breakthrough in negotiations with the Cottagers.
The newspaper says Manchester United were also interested in Sessegnon but the player made it clear his preference was Tottenham and the Londoners are now closing-in on a deal which could also include either Josh Onomah or Georges-Kevin Nkoudou heading in the opposite direction.
There is expected to be another big-money arrival at Spurs soon as the Mirror claims they are also set to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis as Pochettino looks to wrap-up a double swoop ahead of the new season.
