Arsenal confident of agreeing deals for key targets as Emery eyes triple swoop
Arsenal are confident of agreeing a deal to sign Kieran Tierney as Unai Emery looks to bring in three more signings before the transfer window closes
We’re now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Here, Arsenal are eyeing three more signings…
Arsenal are confident of agreeing deals to sign Kieran Tierney and Wilfried Zaha as Unai Emery looks to bring in three more signings before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
Emery has signed three players so far this summer with Dani Ceballos arriving on loan from Real Madrid, William Saliba snapped-up from Saint-Etienne in a deal that will see him remain in France for another year while Gabriel Martinelli arrived earlier in the summer.
However, Arsenal are still working hard trying to further strengthen the squad ahead of the new season and the Scottish Sun are reporting that we’re increasingly confident of finally getting a deal agreed for Tierney.
We’ve been chasing the left-back all summer but a potential deal looked to be dead in the water after Celtic rejected two formal offers from Arsenal for the 22-year-old defender.
However, the Scottish Sun says Arsenal have reopened talks with the SPL Champions and we’re determined to find an agreement before the transfer window slams shut on August 8.
The newspaper claims Arsenal have already met Celtic’s £25m asking price but the offer was knocked back because we included too many clauses in the proposal so the two clubs are now trying to reach an agreement over the structure of the deal.
The Independent are also carrying a similar report that says Arsenal are optimistic of signing Tierney this summer so it looks as though the Scottish international could become our fourth signing of the window.
And the spending isn’t expected to stop there as the Independent claims Emery is also confident of signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace and one other player in what would be a triple swoop ahead of the new campaign.
Hopefully the third player would be an experienced centre-back as we desperately need to improve our defence this summer but it looks as though Tierney and Zaha could be coming to the Emirates before the end of the window.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol claimed this week that Arsenal are set to submit a significantly improved offer for Zaha after seeing our opening £40m bid rejected so we’re obviously still keen to land the Ivorian and I think he’d be a terrific signing.

If we could finish the window having signed Martinelli, Ceballos, Saliba, Tierney, Zaha and an experienced centre-back then we’d have had a superb summer. Time is running out though, so let’s see what the next 13 days brings us.
