Tottenham have submitted a £30m bid for Ryan Sessegnon and are hopeful of getting a deal agreed after also offering Fulham Josh Onomah as part of the deal
We’re now at the business end of the summer transfer window and managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the world. Here, the latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of Ryan Sessegnon…
Tottenham have submitted a £30m bid for Ryan Sessegnon and are hopeful of getting a deal agreed after also offering Fulham Josh Onomah as part of the deal, according to reports today.
Mauricio Pochettino has snapped up Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke so far this summer while Spurs have also been heavily linked with Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso and Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in recent weeks.
However, Pochettino is in the market for a left sided player as Danny Rose has been told he can find a new club after being left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour squad last month in order to help facilitate a move this summer.
As yet, no deal has been agreed for Rose but that hasn’t stopped Spurs pursuing Sessegnon throughout the summer window and it looks like they’re now closing-in on a deal for the England U21 international.
Sky Sports claims Tottenham are locked in negotiations with Fulham over a deal to sign Sessegnon and all parties are believed to be hopeful an agreement will be found ahead of Thursday evening’s transfer deadline.
Goal go one further and claim Spurs have now tabled a formal offer worth £30m for the 19-year-old and hope the inclusion of midfielder Josh Onomah as part of the deal will be enough to persuade Fulham to do business.
The report says Onomah is keen on a move to Craven Cottage after struggling to establish himself at White Hart Lane but it remains to be seen whether Fulham will be open to accepting the youngster as part of any deal for Sessegnon.
Goal says Pochettino is hopeful of getting a deal done for the teenager as he’s desperate to land one of his key transfer targets while Sessegnon is keen to join Tottenham in order to return to the top flight following Fulham’s relegation last season.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but I think Sessegnon would be an excellent signing if Tottenham could get a transfer concluded before the window slams shut on Thursday.

The youngster is considered to be one of the hottest young talents in British football and would no doubt develop hugely under the tutelage of Pochettino. Sessegnon made his name as a left-back but can play further forward down the left flank so he’d give Spurs a versatile option within their squad.
