Pochettino handed injury boost as Tottenham reveal squad for Olympiakos clash
Tottenham have revealed their travelling squad for Wednesday night’s Champions League group stage opener against Olympiakos.
Tottenham have revealed their travelling squad for Wednesday night’s Champions League group stage opener against Olympiakos.
Spurs will be desperate to go one better this season after losing to Liverpool in last years final in Madrid and they begin their quest with a tricky trip to Athens tomorrow night.
The Tottenham squad flew-out of London for Greece this afternoon and the club showed footage of the players boarding the plane with Kyle Walker-Peters confirmed as making the trip after returning to full fitness.
The full-back missed the recent games against Arsenal and Crystal Palace with a thigh injury but it appears he should be back in contention against Olympiakos after being filmed at the airport this afternoon.
Walker-Peters could come straight in for Serge Aurier as the Ivory Coast international wasn’t spotted boarding the plane to Greece despite putting in a solid display during his first outing of the season at the weekend.
Midfielders Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele are in the travelling squad after recently returning to full fitness so they’ll be hoping to feature for Tottenham tomorrow night while Davinson Sanchez could also return as he’s back in the squad after missing the last two games with an ankle knock.
However, Giovani Lo Celso will miss out as he’s still recovering from a groin injury while Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon weren’t seen boarding the plane as they continue to work on their fitness following injuries.

Danny Rose and Ben Davies weren’t seen in the video footage either but it seems highly unlikely both left-backs have been omitted from the squad so the likelihood is at least one of them boarded the plane when the video wasn’t rolling.
Alli didn’t feature in the Tottenham video but we know he’s in the squad as he was spotted in the background of Harry Winks’ post of him sitting on the plane that he shared on social media.
Here are the confirmed 18 players that have travelled:
Hugo Lloris
Paulo Gazzaniga
Alfie Whiteman
Jan Vertonghen
Toby Alderweireld
Davinson Sanchez
Kyle Walker-Peters
Eric Dier
Erik Lamela
Victor Wanyama
Oliver Skipp
Moussa Sissoko
Harry Winks
Dele Alli
Tanguy Ndombele
Lucas Moura
Son Heung-min
Harry Kane
Tottenham head into the Olympiakos game looking to make a positive start after losing their opening two group games last season and they should be high on confidence after thrashing Palace 4-0 at the weekend.
